As you know, the Green Party supports all the objectives set out below. We believe that cycling should be a higher priority for the local councils and it was a Green Party amendment that brought about the additional funding for staff time to support cycling at the recent budget meeting. As the only political party opposed to the Northern Distributor Road, we can point to how we would generate extra money for sustainable transport - by abandoning this road project, which is costing hundreds of thousands of pounds each year just for modelling work.
